ADVERTISING In
common with the approach to shop front design, we feel
that the street character would be harmed by the placement
of excessively dominant, over-scaled or strident corporate
imagery, whether on shop fronts or building surfaces, or
as free-standing objects, and their design must continue
to be controlled by planning permission. Of equal
importance is the impact of highways street furniture such
as traffic signs or street lights, seating or
planters, or free standing advertising, all of which
should be made subservient to the requirements of the
protected area. |
